Travelers struggle to discover destinations aligned with their mood and lifestyle, leading to fragmented planning journeys and decision fatigue across multiple platforms.
Solution
To design a travel platform that reduces planning friction by translating user intent into curated, bookable travel experiences within a single ecosystem.

Discovery & Research
Objective
To create a travel platform that behaves less like a search engine and more like a personalized travel companion. One that understands mood, timing, and lifestyle, and translates them into bookable experiences.
Research approach
Since the goal was to design a grounded, believable product, research combined:

Secondary Research Insights
Travel decision-making is shifting from transactional to experiential.
Key findings from global travel studies:
Travelers now spend more time discovering than booking
Personalization strongly impacts booking likelihood
Users trust peer reviews more than brand descriptions
Visual storytelling influences destination selection more than price
One pattern stood out clearly: People don’t search for countries.
They search for feelings.
Opportunity Area
Existing platforms optimize for logistics:
Flights
Hotels
Prices
Availability
Very few optimize for emotional intent.
That gap is where VibeScape positions itself. Between inspiration platforms like Instagram and transactional platforms like Booking.com.

The empathy map captures the mindset, behaviors, and motivations of VibeScape’s target user. It highlights what they see, hear, think, feel, and do throughout their travel planning journey, as well as their underlying needs. This helps guide design decisions to ensure the product delivers experiences that truly resonate with users’ moods and personalities.

To better understand the end-to-end experience, I mapped out the user journey from initial inspiration to post-trip reflection. This helped identify emotional highs and lows, friction points, and key moments where VibeScape can create meaningful, vibe-driven touchpoints.

I mapped a detailed user flow to guide users from discovery to booking confirmation, accounting for key scenarios like guest access and login interruptions. The flow progresses from destination exploration to preference setting, itinerary building, and secure checkout. By structuring clear decision points and preserving user progress, I ensured the experience remains intuitive, flexible, and low-friction while balancing inspiration with transactional clarity.

After defining the user flow, I created low-fidelity wireframes to focus on structure, hierarchy, and interaction logic before applying visual design. These wireframes map how users move from the Home screen to the personalized “For You” feed, explore rooms and activities, and manage bookings within a mood-first experience.

By removing visual distractions, I was able to refine content prioritization, simplify navigation, and ensure each screen supports a seamless transition from inspiration to confident decision-making across all screens.

The VibeScape home screen blends personalization with intuitive exploration. A dynamic greeting, location awareness, and prominent search make discovery seamless from the first interaction. Mood-based filters and immersive destination cards inspire exploration while building trust through ratingsand save options. Clear navigation ensures users can effortlessly move within pages from inspiration to planning.
The “For You” screen delivers a personalized, mood-driven feed tailored to the user’s preferences and location. Curated destination cards combine immersive visuals with clear ratings and save actions to support confident decision-making. Content is structured for effortless scanning, allowing users to quickly discover places aligned with their vibe.

The "Activities & Experience" screen transforms destination browsing into immersive exploration. Curated experiences are presented with rich visuals, clear categories, and concise details to help users quickly understand what each activity offers.mRatings, pricing cues, and quick-save options build trust while supporting confident decision-making.
The "Destination" screen transforms inspiration into informed decision-making through immersive, full-width imagery and clear visual hierarchy. Key details such as location, ratings, highlights, and pricing are structured for quick scanning and confident comparison. Interactive elements like save, share, and booking options are strategically placed to support seamless action.

The final screens bring VibeScape to life as a seamless, mood-driven travel experience. Every interface element was refined to balance emotional discovery with practical planning from personalized feeds to immersive destination previews and intuitive booking flows. The vibrant visual system, soft interactions, and clear hierarchy work together to create an experience that feels effortless, inspiring, and deeply personal. These screens reflect the core goal of VibeScape: helping users discover destinations based on how they want to feel, not just where they want to go.
